Being underage is so inconvenient and can really get in the way of buying some of the simplest things like spray paint, super glue, and sometimes even lubricant.
Don’t worry though, if you are under 18 years old, there are still options for buying lubricant. I am going to give you five ways to get lubricant.
There are plenty of places to buy lubricant and plenty of other options if going to a store doesn’t work for you. First of all, adult (sex) stores require you to be 18 years old, and most of them check your I.D.
So going to an adult store is most likely not an option. You do not need to be 18 just to purchase lubricant at the store, though. You can still buy it at almost any store that you do not have to be 18 to enter.
Stores such as Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, and any other drug store do not require 18 to enter. Since you do not need to be 18 to buy lube, you can buy it at these stores.
You can also buy popular lubricants online without 18, but you usually have a credit/debit card. If going to a store doesn’t really appeal to you, there are some other at-home options.
You may need to go to the store to pick these products up, but no one will know what you are really using them for.
I am going to give you four of the safest and most convenient at-home options. I will also give you some tips on knowing whether something is safe to use as a lubricant.
You should never use some ingredients, some that may be okay, and some depend on the person.
One ingredient to stay away from is chlorhexidine. Chlorhexidine is actually antibacterial, but its problem is that it kills off the good bacteria that are supposed to be present in the vagina.
If it kills off all good bacteria, then women will become very at risk of a yeast infection.
The yeast bacteria, which is supposed to be there, will overproduce to make up for what is missing causing a large amount of yeast to be present, which causes a yeast infection.
K-Y Jelly actually has this ingredient as part of its makeup. It typically only causes a yeast infection when used often, but it can still cause one to use it only once.
Some ingredients might be okay but should generally be avoided. These ingredients are menthol, cinnamon, peppermint, and capsaicin.
If you use products with these ingredients often, you could end up with a severe skin reaction. That would be uncomfortable and really painful.
Either avoid these ingredients or really want to use them, then do so only very infrequently.
Some ingredients only affect some people. Know what you are allergic to. Since everyone doesn’t know everything they’re allergic to, it’s hard to know what ingredients you can use.
You may not be allergic to an ingredient when you ingest it, but you can get a severe reaction from using it in and around your vagina.
The best way to avoid getting a bad reaction is to only use a tiny amount in a small area to test it out first. If you do not have a reaction, you’re okay to proceed.
If your vagina is susceptible, then you should really be careful when choosing products and most definitely test it on a small area first.
Okay, now for some at-home lubricant ideas. This first one is the most cost-effective, but it lacks a little in quality. Cornstarch and water. That’s it.
You have to boil the cornstarch and water mixture for about ten minutes, uncovered. Make it to your own desired thickness.
Once it is done, put it in a storable container and place it in the refrigerator. Once it sets a bit more and cools off, it’s ready to use.
This lube is going to work, but not for very long. You will have to keep applying it frequently.
This second option may be a little less convenient but works really well. Flax seeds, water, and a small (tiny) dash of peppermint.
Flax seeds have natural oil in them that is used in various products, including skin moisturizers. Start by putting the flax seeds in a pot and add water.
Boil the water and flax seeds for a few minutes, uncovered. Then drain the water into a container and add a tiny bit of peppermint if you would like.
If you are sensitive to peppermint, do not add it. The end result is a really well-liked lubricant.
The third option is one simple product, Aloe Vera. Aloe is an excellent lubricant and has an awesome feeling to it. It also makes your skin feel really soft.
Aloe is said to have the ability to fight off possible yeast infections, so if you’re someone who gets them frequently, this could really help. Just be sure that it is 100% Aloe and does not contain any parabens.
A fourth option is a few other simple products. Egg whites can be a great lubricant, and there is nothing harmful in them.
Original, non-flavored yogurt can also be a great lubricant. It has a good pH balance that can prevent yeast infections.
Olive oil and coconut oil can both be excellent lubricants, but there are drawbacks. Both oils can degrade latex and cause condoms to break. It is also tough to clean up.

If you decide to use this oil be sure that it is 100% pure olive or coconut oil; no other ingredients should be listed.
As you can see, there are plenty of other options for buying lubricants if you are under 18 or you don’t like buying lubricants from the store.
Remember, you do not have to be 18 to buy lubes at stores where you don’t have to be 18 to enter.
If you choose to use at-home lube methods, make sure you test it on a small area first and know what you are allergic to. Pay attention to ingredients and always use caution when using a new product, and you will be fine—best of luck to you.
