What are Climax Control Condoms? How to Last Longer

3 minute read

Do you want to last longer in the bedroom? Climax control condoms might be the answer — giving you more control over your O, potentially up to 20 minutes more sack time.

Climax Control Condoms

What is a Climax Control Condom?

Also called "delay condoms" or "last longer condoms." Three types:

With desensitizing lubricant: Benzocaine numbing agent at the tip reduces sensation where your most sensitive nerve endings are located.

With a thicker barrier: Extra-thick condom so you feel less heat and moisture. No numbing agents — good if you don't want any benzocaine.

Both combined: Most popular climax control condoms combine both methods for maximum delay effect.

How to Use a Climax Control Condom

Step 1: Foreplay

Take time to get in the mood before going directly to pound town. If foreplay gets you hot and heavy, put the condom on BEFORE doing hand/mouth stuff.

Step 2: Open the Condom Carefully

Only touch the rim of the condom to preserve the desensitizing lube (it's only at the tip — if you touch it, it goes on your fingers, not your penis).

Step 3: Put on the Condom

Roll the condom down until it reaches the base of your shaft. Pinch the reservoir tip to position the delay lube correctly.

Step 4: WAIT!

It might take a minute or two for the numbing lube to take effect. Continue foreplay after putting the condom on.

Step 5: Take it Slow

Take things slow. Be consistent in your rhythm. Change positions. Build up to a big finish. Climax control condoms give you the power to control your pleasure — but you still have to keep your pleasure under control.

Step 6: Dispose of the Condom

Remove the condom immediately after finishing to avoid numbing lube spreading. Try removing it with a tissue to prevent spillage.

What You Need to Know About Desensitizing Lube

Yes, it's safe!

All Condomania climax control condoms are FDA-approved and independently tested. Desensitizing lube doesn't cause side effects — though if too strong, you might lose your erection. In that case, try a condom with a thicker barrier and no delay lube.

It Feels Different for Everyone

Numbing lube partially numbs the tip — reducing sensation, not eliminating it. Every guy has a different threshold. It takes a few tries to find your "Goldilocks Zone." If you feel too numb, switch to a thick barrier condom without lube. If not numb enough, add a desensitizing gel or climax control spray.

Bonus: Mandalay Gel — Stronger Effect

Pair a climax control condom with Mandalay Gel for maximum delay:

FAQs

Do climax control condoms actually work?
Yes — studies have confirmed that the desensitizing lube in delay condoms genuinely reduces sensation, which helps men last longer. Results vary by person, but many guys report lasting at least 10–20 minutes longer with a climax control condom.
Are delay condoms safe?
Yes. The benzocaine used in most delay condoms is FDA-approved and very safe. In rare cases, some people are allergic to benzocaine — if you notice irritation, burning, or a rash, discontinue use and try a non-benzocaine delay condom (thicker barrier only) instead.
Will the numbing lube affect my partner?
If you're having vaginal sex, a small amount of lube can transfer to your partner. This generally isn't harmful in small amounts, but some partners prefer to avoid it. If this is a concern, try a delay condom with a thicker barrier instead of desensitizing lube.
What's the difference between delay condoms and standard condoms?
Delay condoms either contain a small amount of benzocaine at the tip to mildly numb the most sensitive part of your penis, have a thicker barrier to reduce sensation, or combine both. Standard condoms have neither feature.
What are the best climax control condoms?
Our top picks are Durex Prolong (desensitizing lube + ribs for her pleasure), Trojan Extended Pleasure (numbing lube + classic fit), and LifeStyles Extra Strength (thick barrier, no numbing lube). Browse all delay condoms at Condomania.
